Danas ovde \u017eivi 327 me\u0161tana, prete\u017eno ma\u0111arske i srpske nacionalnosti prema popisu stanovni\u0161tva iz 2022. godine.<\/p>\n<p>Putuju\u0107i kroz banatsku ravnicu sti\u017ee se od male neseobine Hetin, du\u017e srpsko rumunske granice i reke begej. Ovo naselje je \u0161ezdesetih godina pro\u0161log veka pripradalo op\u0161tini Nova Crnja. Me\u0111utim kada je trebalo izgraditi put do odse\u010denog Hetina, novocrnjansko op\u0161tinsko ve\u0107e se odreklo malog ma\u0111arskog sela. Ono je zatim postalo deo op\u0161tine \u017diti\u0161te i izgra\u0111en je poplo\u010dani put koji povezuje Srpski Itebej i Hetin.<\/p>\n<p>Stanovnici Hetina su u dva navrata napu\u0161tali svoje selo. Prvi put za vreme turskog perioda a drugi put tokom revolicije i rata za slobodu.<\/p>\n<p>Prema popisu 1869. godine u selu je \u017eivelo 1009 me\u0161tana. Njihov broj je rastao sve do 1948. godine kada je bilo 2.263. Od tada postepeno opada, tako da je 1991. godine Hetin naseljavalo 966 ljudi. Prema popisu iz 2002. godine broj stanovnika je smanjen na 763. Poslednji popis pokazuje 327 du\u0161a.<\/p>\n<p>U selu je 1959. godine postojala biblioteka sa 2000 knjiga. Ponos dragocenog mesta je fudbalski klub Terekve\u0161. Prema re\u010dima predsednika ovog sportskog kolektiva Mihajla Gruji\u0107a u selu su postojali i atletski i ma\u010devala\u010dki klub osnovani kada i fudbalski, \u0161to je za malo mesto poput Hetina bila retkost.<\/p>\n<p>Lokalna katoli\u010dka crkva u sastavu je isto\u010dnog dekanata Zrenjaninske biskupije, a kao zavisne pripadaju joj i crkve u Me\u0111i i Srpskom
